The September meeting was our AGM, which was somewhat different this year. When we arrived at the hall, none of the lights were working! Fortunately, there was still plenty of daylight, so we pushed the tables nearer the windows and hoped for the best.
Officers were elected, or re-elected, the programme for 2017 was discussed and we had a presentation by Nick about the new blog. A few more members will be setting themselves up in the near future, so we hope to have plenty more stories and comments on-line soon.
By just after 8 pm, the daylight had almost gone and we were reduced to trying to see by the light of a computer screen and a couple of small penlight torches. We had to abandon the idea of readings, and soon decided to close the meeting, without even having our tea and cake, sad indeed!
