Our short story competition is now live! Send us your stories with a word count of between 1500-2500 words before midnight on Saturday 10th October.
We had discussion on what theme to pick and resorted to a tried and tested formula – pick a random phrase from a book (using page number and then line number). What we landed on pretty much sums up this year and honestly was not an intentional choice.
Ladies and gentlemen, the prompt is… “Another Disappointment“
Do with it what you will, there’s absolutely tons of material out there just from the past few weeks, never mind the year as a whole. Of course, you could come up with something totally removed from 2020, the choice is yours. Our judge, who never disappoints us, is the wonderful Alex Davis and we will announce the winners on Thursday 5th November (insert your own jokes about fireworks or your writing soul being burnt at the stake).
Send your entries to our competitions email address or by post to a physical address – see our Competitions Page for full details.
