Last week we were very pleased to have Anne Howkins at our meeting to unveil the winners of our Flash Fiction competition on the theme of Utopia.
Anne gave a great summary on what she was looking for in a good piece of flash and offered to run a Flash Workshop in 2025 which we’re sure we’ll take her up on!
Entries from Tom Allen (County Durham), Margaret Morey (Northumberland), Chris Milner (Northumberland) and Dave Smith (Derbyshire) were well received but just missed the final shortlist.
Highly Commended & Local Writer Award Winner: Isaac Martin for Heaven on Earth
3rd Prize: James Edwards of Northumberland for Sanctuary
2nd Prize: Julie Bardill of Bingham, Notts, for A Step Too Close
1st Prize: Catherine Ogston of Perth, Scotland, for 2046
