Special Thanks to the Promoters of Writing Competitions

Well, we’ve had some pretty good entrants for our Flash Fiction competition. Thanks to all who entered, they are being analysed, tasted, tested and dissected by our lovely judges, Anne and Lucy. We will announce the winners in a few weeks.

Before that, we will also be launching our next competition – a Short Story comp (word count between 1500-2000) on a theme that seems somewhat fitting for 2020 so far. More details shortly.

But we’d like to take this opportunity to thank those tireless folk out there in the wilds of the internet who promote and advertise writing competitions. We ask our entrants where they saw the details of our comps and we’d like to give a round of applause to the following:

Almond Press aka https://dystopianstories.com/writing-competitions-contests/ (lots of traffic from here!)

Writers HQ (seriously, you’re a lovely but bonkers bunch)

Christopher Fielden who has smashing website full of useful info

And a few others who had picked up and promoted our competition but the entrants hadn’t given me the exact URLs (so, thank you also to Creative Scotland and Writers’ Forum) and, especially, those who passed on information in person via writers’ groups and courses such as Ken Elkes’ Flash Dash.

You’re all brilliant – thanks for your time and support!
